Thousands of secondhand books offered for sale by 18 experienced dealers . Otford is situated very close to the M25 and A25 and is set at the southern end of the lovely Darent Valley. Otford village has several antique shops and nice pubs worth a visit too !

Housed in a low-roofed glasshouse, it was like a sauna inside, even though the roof panes have shades. Non climatisé as the French say. The stocks of mass market p/backs may be cheapish, didn't browse these. More collectable stuff was fairly average, (though I may have missed the cream as I went to the Barras first). I have been going to this fair for some years with my parents - who go almost every time - and always really enjoy myself. It's a small fair with mostly general secondhand books and ephemera, which suits me. It also has refreshments - with fabulous homemade cakes and apple pie, so we always make time for coffee and cake too! - SJ Hamshere 15.12.08.
It is sad how far this Fair as deteriorated from rooms full off professional dealers to stands without shelving and items left in plastic boxes on tables. There were many gaps and from what I understand no effort has been made to bring back or in new dealers of note. Mike 19.04.10. Despite the drop in number of full time dealers (which of course is sadly accurate) there are still a small number of us who go regularly and bring proper stock which is in good condition, shelved, priced and generally presented well. We try to ensure the stock is varied and of a consistent quality and to this end have a small and loyal following of customers who visit and seem to be happy with what they find. - A Regular Exhibitor 06.05.10
